10:30am Welcoming the Light of Christ and Worship Begins
We worship on the unceded traditional territory of the Spokane, Cayuse, Umatilla, Walla Walla, Coeur d’Alene, and other tribes. We acknowledge the history of indigenous genocide, removal, and erasure that continues to this day. We recognize the role that Christian communities played in these injustices, and we recommit ourselves to seeking more peaceful, just, and neighborly ways of sharing this land with all who call it home.

Recognizing all who have served
Prayer: God of all the Nations, we remember that without justice, there can be no peace. We thank you for the people who have given their youth and often their lives in the service of our country. We call upon your blessings that justice may prevail for our veterans. Fill our nations leaders with true compassion not just hollow words of praise. May these leaders act with honor toward the living not just toward those who have died. May the words of praise for our veterans turn to actions that are just and insure that food, shelter, and medicine are easily provided to all who need it. Amen.

The Lord’s Prayer use the translation which is meaningful to you or
Our Father (Creator) who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Listening for God
Psalm 98
O sing to the Lord a new song, for God has done marvelous things.God’s right hand and God’s holy arm have gotten God victory.2 The Lord has made known God’s victory; God has revealed God’s vindication in the sight of the nations.3 God has remembered God’s steadfast love and faithfulness to the house of Israel. All the ends of the earth have seen the victory of our God.
4 Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth; break forth into joyous song and sing praises.5 Sing praises to the Lord with the lyre, with the lyre and the sound of melody.6 With trumpets and the sound of the horn make a joyful noise before the Sovereign, the Lord.
7 Let the sea roar and all that fills it, the world and those who live in it.8 Let the floods clap their hands; let the hills sing together for joy9 at the presence of the Lord, for God is coming to judge the earth.God will judge the world with righteousness and the peoples with equity.
Luke 20:27-38 27 Some Sadducees, those who say there is no resurrection, came to him 28 and asked him a question: “Teacher, Moses wrote for us that if a man’s brother dies leaving a wife but no children, the man[a] shall marry the widow and raise up children for his brother. 29 Now there were seven brothers; the first married a woman and died childless; 30 then the second[b] 31 and the third married her, and so in the same way all seven died childless. 32 Finally the woman also died. 33 In the resurrection, therefore, whose wife will the woman be? For the seven had married her.”
34 Jesus said to them, “Those who belong to this age marry and are given in marriage, 35 but those who are considered worthy of a place in that age and in the resurrection from the dead neither marry nor are given in marriage. 36 Indeed, they cannot die anymore, because they are like angels and are children of God, being children of the resurrection. 37 And the fact that the dead are raised Moses himself showed, in the story about the bush, where he speaks of the Lord as the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. 38 Now he is God not of the dead but of the living, for to him all of them are alive.”

Refrain: Steal away. Steal away. Steal away. Steal away to Jesus. Steal away. Steal away home. I don’t have long to stay here1. I hear God calling, God calls me from the thunder. The trumpet sounds within my soul. I don’t have long to stay here. (Refrain)2. Green trees are bending, poor sinner stands a-trembling. The trumpet sounds within my soul. I don’t have long to stay here. (Refrain)3. I hear God calling. God calls me by the lightening. The trumpet sounds within my soul. I don’t have long to stay here. (Refrain)4.
