10:30am    Welcoming the Light of Christ

And Worship Begins

We worship on the unceded traditional territory of the Spokane, Cayuse, Umatilla, Walla Walla, Coeur d’Alene, and other tribes. We acknowledge the history of indigenous genocide, removal, and erasure that continues to this day.  We recognize the role that Christian communities played in these injustices, and we recommit ourselves to seeking more peaceful, just, and neighborly ways of sharing this land with all who call it home.

Community Affirmation

God stands within us ...all the time!  All the time...God stands within us!

Hymn: “Great is Your Faithfulness” 423 (NCH)

Great is your faithfulness, O God Creator, with you no shadow of turning we see. You do not change, your compassions, they fail not; all of your goodness forever will be.

Refrain: Great is your faithfulness! Great is your faithfulness! Morning by morning new mercies I see; All I have needed your hand has provided. Great is your faithfulness, God unto me!

Summer and winter and spring time and harvest, sun, moon, and stars in their courses above, join with all nature in manifold witness to your great faithfulness, mercy and love (refrain)

Pardon for sin and a peace so enduring, your own dear presence to cheer and to guide. Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow, blessings all mine and ten thousand beside. (refrain)

The Lord’s Prayer use the translation which is meaningful to you or

Our Father (Creator) who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.  Amen.

Response: “Surely the Presence” RB 285

Surely the presence of the Lord is in this place. I can feel his mighty power and his grace. I can hear the brush of angel wings. I see glory on each face. Surely the presence of the Lord is in this place.

Dedication Hymn: “We Bring The Sacrifice of Praise” RB 235

We bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the Lord.

We bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the Lord.

And we offer up to you the sacrifices of thanksgiving.

And we offer up to you the sacrifices of joy!

Dedication prayer: Holy One, we offer our time, talent, and treasure to the sustaining of this embassy of your compassion and justice. May the abundance of your love for all creation be know through us. Amen

Listening for God

2 Timothy 2:8-15 Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, descended from David. This is my gospel, for which I am suffering even to the point of being chained like a criminal. But God’s word is not chained. 10 Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they too may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.

11 Here is a trustworthy saying:

If we died with him,    we will also live with him;12 if we endure,    we will also reign with him.If we disown him,    he will also disown us;13 if we are faithless,    he remains faithful,    for he cannot disown himself.

14 Keep reminding God’s people of these things. Warn them before God against quarreling about words; it is of no value, and only ruins those who listen. 15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.

Luke 17:11-19 Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. 12 As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance 13 and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!”

14 When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed.

15 One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. 16 He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan.

17 Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? 18 Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?” 19 Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.”

Closing Hymn: “Hush, Hush, Somebody's Calling My Name” NCH 604

Hush, hush, somebody’s calling my name. Hush, hush, somebody’s calling my name. Oh, hush, hush, somebody’s calling my name. O my God, O my God, what shall I do? What shall I do?

Sounds like Jesus. Somebody’s calling my name. Sounds like Jesus. Somebody’s calling my name. Oh, sounds like Jesus. Somebody’s calling my name. O my God, O my God, what shall I do? What shall I do?

I’m so glad, trouble won’t last always. I’m so glad, trouble won’t last always. Oh, I’m so glad, trouble won’t last always. O my God, O my God, what shall I do? What shall I do?
